Description
Visitors to Glenarm Plaza and 16th Street are now able to drink alcohol outside on the surrounding public property, and officials see the change as part of a larger revitalization of the area.
Six businesses now offer to-go containers for beer, wine or cocktails that can legally be consumed in the outdoor areas near the Denver Pavilions on either side of Glenarm Place, making the downtown area the first city-established consumption area, Denver’s Department of Excise and Licenses confirmed. The city proposed the open consumption district in May.
The participating businesses are 5280 Burger Bar, Henry's Tavern, Maggiano's, Paramount Theatre, Qué Rico and West Saloon and Kitchen, according to a website managed by the Downtown Denver Partnership.
