Description
Students from the Denver Youth Employment Program (DYEP) officially opened a new outdoor food pantry on Tuesday at the Salvation Army Denver Red Shield on High Street, providing 24-hour access to food and essential items for families experiencing food insecurity.
The pantry, dubbed "the blessing box," operates on a simple 'take what you need' and 'give what you can' principle and was designed, built and stocked entirely by the students, including Nevaeh Golden and her partner Ibn Kemp, as part of a youth-led initiative to address community hunger.
