The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has confirmed it is conducting a “complaint investigation” at the UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital on the Anschutz Medical Campus. The hospital’s Sterile Processing Department or SPD, which is responsible for cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments, is currently operating at reduced capacity, according to Dan Weaver, UCHealth's vice president of communications.
