A Denver Police officer shot and wounded a man in a driveway this month, just 15 seconds after that officer exited his vehicle to speak with the man and others about a large mortar firework in the street in front of the home. Just before 9 p.m. July 1, two officers were patrolling an area of the Montbello neighborhood when they saw large fireworks launch into the air. The officers turned down a street and spotted a large mortar in the street in front of a home in the 4300 block of North Del Rio Court.
