Description
Garland restaurant owner Daniel Kassahun opens up about the terrifying crash that damaged his longtime Ethiopian restaurant, Star Bukri’s.
He explains how close his son and an employee came to being injured, how he’s rebuilding after 35 years in business, and how he’s keeping alive the dream of his late wife, Bukri Yirgu — the chef whose recipes defined their food and family legacy.
Star Bukri’s has been part of the Garland community since 1993, serving authentic Ethiopian dishes like injera made from teff and spice blends created from scratch. Kassahun says he plans to reopen stronger than ever once repairs are complete.
