Fourteen months into his tenure as Houston’s Police Chief, Noe Diaz is facing growing criticism from one of the city’s most prominent immigrant rights groups, which said it has been shut out of conversations with the department. Diaz, who made history in August 2024 as only the second Latino to lead the Houston Police Department, vowed during his swearing-in to lead “with kindness, for the love of every community.”
