Description
The tropics continue to stay on the quiet side, but a new wave is beginning to push off the African coast.
This wave has a 70% chance of development over the next 7 days. It has the potential to be a tropical depression by the end of the week, but models are quite different on the intensity of this wave.
Where could this tropical wave go?
It is still too soon to know the exact track, but it looks as though several fronts will be pushing through the southeast the next couple of weeks — these fronts will help push any storms away from land.
It is possible that late next week, we could be watching a storm parallel to the Atlantic Coast. Right now, it seems as if this potential storm will stay offshore, but it's worth watching.
Euro model
The European model agrees that the Bermuda high will push east and steer this wave through the central Atlantic. However, the Euro doesn't think this wave will strengthen nearly as much or as quickly. The Euro also keeps anything that could develop off the coast.
