A man has been arrested after his 8-month-old child was killed in a crash on U.S. 19 in Pasco County early Saturday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol. FHP said around 1:36 a.m., a 32-year-old Clearwater man driving a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on U.S. 19 in Holiday when he "overtook" an Audi sedan, which was "slowing or stopped for other traffic just north of Flora Avenue." Troopers said the Clearwater man failed to slow down and stop, and as a result, rear-ended the Audi. According to FHP, the 8-month-old was the son of the man driving the Chevy. FHP said the child was in a car seat, yet suffered serious injuries in the crash. They were taken to the hospital afterward where they died, troopers said.
