The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has started an investigation after the agency said a person led detectives to a dead body at the Gandy Bridge in Pinellas County on Friday. Chief Deputy Frank Losat told 10 Tampa Bay Saturday that shortly after 9 p.m. Friday, an individual he did not name, showed up at HCSO's district two office in Brandon and notified a deputy that he knew where a dead body was in Pinellas County. Losat said the individual then led deputies to a body off the Gandy Bridge, and that detectives are now in the process of processing the scene. Then, shortly after 10 p.m. Friday, Losat said HCSO dispatched deputies to a home on Maybrook Avenue in Riverview, adding that the St. Pete Police Department was also dispatched "almost simultaneously."
