Description
A man is dead after the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office says he pointed a gun at deputies when they tried serving him an arrest warrant.
The sheriff's office tells 10 Tampa Bay News this happened at around 11 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Golf Club Lane in Venice when deputies showed up to a home to serve an active arrest warrant.
Officials asked the person inside the home, 32-year-old Anthony Bottoni, to come outside, but they say he refused.
Deputies then forced entry into the home before Bottoni armed himself with a gun, according to a news release.
