Description
As Virginia voters prepare to cast ballots for the next governor, both candidates have found common ground in their disdain for the Commonwealth's most hated tax: the car tax.
Eliminating the tax won't be an easy feat for either candidate. Gov. Youngkin has tried multiple times and failed. Republican Winsome Earle-Sears said, "We, the Republicans, put in the budget to get rid of it, and guess who voted against it? Her side of the aisle," referring to Democrat Abigail Spanberger.
But it's not as easy as 1-2-3. The car tax brought in a revenue of $3 billion for Virginia, which funded schools, police departments, and public works.
