It has been one week since President Donald Trump announced he would be federalizing DC Police, a power he has due to a section of D.C.’s Home Rule Act, and deployed National Guard soldiers in the District. There have been protests and nearly 400 arrests. Some residents say they have felt uneasy and anxious due to the increase in federal officers in their neighborhoods, while others say it was high time strong action be taken to tackle crime rates.
