Description
The city of Westfield is nearing the finish line for its new comprehensive plan, one that will include a vision for the entire Westfield Washington Township, Mayor Scott Willis said.
The existing comprehensive plan was put in place in 2008. Since then, the city’s population is estimated to have doubled. The 2010 census counted 30,068 and the 2020 around 47,000.
The city is currently going through a special census – though it’s on pause due to the government shutdown – because its population is estimated to be about 63,000 now. It’s considered to be one of the fastest-growing cities in the country.
