An 82-year-old woman is dead after being hit by a school bus north of West Lafayette Monday afternoon. According to Indiana State Police, the pedestrian – later identified by the Tippecanoe County Coroner's Office as 82-year-old Karen Cameron, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin – was walking across State Road 43 from the Speedway gas station to the Phillips 66 gas station just south of County Road 600 North around 1:30 p.m. Oct. 13. The school bus, which was not occupied at the time of the crash, was traveling north in the left lane of State Road 43 when it struck Cameron.
