A 16-year-old, who is accused of attacking and raping a 79-year-old woman in her home in New Whiteland, had his initial court hearing Monday morning. A Johnson County judge ordered Ariahn Smith to be moved to adult jail while he faces charges of rape and strangulation. Smith appeared in court in shackles and did not make eye contact with anyone.
