Description
Former NFL quarterback and FOX Sports analyst Mark Sanchez has been arrested following a stabbing in downtown Indianapolis early Saturday morning.
An IMPD spokesperson said officers responded to a report of a physical disturbance in the 300 block of West Washington Street, near Senate Avenue, around 12:30 a.m. Oct. 4. When officers arrived, they found two men, who IMPD said were not local residents, injured. One man reportedly suffered lacerations and the other sustained "injuries consistent with stab wounds." Both men received medical treatment and the stabbing victim remained hospitalized in stable condition, police said.
Later, around 5:12 p.m. that same day, IMPD announced it had arrested 38-year-old Mark Sanchez for his alleged role in the incident. Police said Sanchez was arrested at the hospital for battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication — all misdemeanors.
Police say Sanchez remains in the hospital and has not yet been booked into the Marion County Adult Detention Center. The Marion County Prosecutor will make the final charging decision.
