IMPD is investigating after a woman was fatally shot at a far east Indianapolis apartment early Friday morning. The shooting was reported around 3:15 a.m. Sept. 26 in the 10100 block of John Jay Drive, near 38th Street and North Mitthoefer Road. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman who had been shot inside an apartment. The woman was in critical condition when taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later. The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the woman as 19-year-old Lanya Amika Anderson.
