Fire officials in Jackson County are asking for the public's help in an arson investigation. The Seymour Fire Department said it's been investigating a suspicious fire that was reported around 4 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at 712 West Oak Street, near Beech Street in Seymour. 911 callers reported a house was fully engulfed in flames with people possibly inside, and responding firefighters found heavy fire and smoke. After a search, crews determined the home was vacant.
