Description
Changes are underway for Indiana teachers and how they are evaluated and rewarded each school year.
Indiana's Teacher Appreciation Grant program, also known as TAG, is established "to provide millions of dollars directly to schools and thousands of dollars to Indiana’s educators to attract, reward, and retain teachers who significantly impact student outcomes," according to the Indiana Department of Education.
For the past decade, teachers who were rated as "effective" or "highly effective" received a stipend in the spring for their hard work and impact on students.
The Indiana State Teachers Association reports those stipends ranged from $250 to $600.
