Police are investigating after a teen girl was killed Thursday morning in downtown Muncie. According to a release from the Muncie Police Department, around 8 a.m. on Sept. 18, officers were called to an apartment in the 400 block of East Gilbert Street, near West Main and North Walnut streets, on a report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they found a 14-year-old girl had been shot inside the apartment. The girl was taken to IU Ball Memorial Hospital, where she later died.
