There are new details on Indiana's plan to house ICE detainees in central Indiana. Those detainees could start arriving at the Miami Correctional Facility starting Oct. 1. On Wednesday, Sept. 17, the head of the Department of Correction went before the State Budget Committee and asked for close to $16 million for upgrades to the Miami Correctional Facility. Those upgrades could include fencing to keep detainees separate from DOC inmates, along with lighting and temporary housing for staff brought in from around the state.
