Description
Police in South Bend responded to a report of shots fired near the Notre Dame campus Saturday night.
According to a release from the South Bend Police Department, around 10 p.m. on Sept. 13, officers were called to the Eddy Street Commons, just south of the campus of Notre Dame, on a report of shots fired.
Police said no one was injured or shot, but five vehicles and two apartments sustained damage from gunfire. At least two people were detained at the scene, but police say they have since been released.
Despite there being no active threat to the community, police stayed on scene to help with crowds and traffic as the incident occurred during Notre Dame's football game against Texas A&M.
