School officials placed Herron High School on lockdown Thursday morning after a student reported that another student may have had a handgun on campus. IMPD responded to the school, located at 116 E. 16th St. on the near north side of Indianapolis, on Sept. 11 and detained the student in question and confiscated the gun.
