A third of deadly youth gun violence in Indianapolis can be tracked back to social media, according to a report from Chalkbeat Indiana and Axios Indianapolis. Arika Herron, a reporter for Axios Indianapolis, said Axios and Chalkbeat Indiana requested all of the probable cause affidavits – that ended up being thousands of pages – for every gun homicide since 2018 that involved school-age children as the suspect or victim of the crime in all cases that the Marion County prosecutor brought murder charges.
