Description
Eighty years after he was killed while serving in World War II, the family of an Indianapolis veteran was finally able to lay him to rest with full military honors.
Family and friends of U.S. Army Private LeRoy B. Miller Jr., along with other veterans, gathered in Crown Hill Cemetery to lay Miller to rest--a second time.
Miller was just 19-years-old when he was killed in combat while serving in Germany. He was assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 112th Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division.
In November 1944, his battalion underwent heavy German counterattackes after capturing the town of Kommerscheidt, Germany, according to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency. (DPPA).
