A 3-year-old is recovering after having a "high probability of death" from her biological father and his girlfriend allegedly beating her on Indy's west side. Luna Cajigas is at Riley Hospital for Children. Now, she's laughing, walking and talking — something her mom, Lexus Burnette, didn't know if she would be able to do again. "I want to take her pain. I want to be able to heal her, but I can't," Burnette said. Just two weeks ago, Luna was rushed to Riley Hospital for Children, not awake or breathing. She was in the care of her father and his girlfriend at a west Indianapolis apartment.
