Now more than ever, families want to know what is in their food and beauty products.
That is because marketing can sometimes make food look healthy or clean.
Aimee Peters said as a child of the 1990's, words like “diet” and “low fat” — or labels that looked appealing — influenced her choices.
"I just thought that was how we should eat," Peters said.
That is one of the reasons Peters uses an app during her trips to the grocery store.
"I'm most concerned about are things like the additives, the processed ingredients," she explained.
