Local police are responding after a "hate group" marched through the streets of downtown Indianapolis over the weekend.
Indiana State Police Sgt. John Perrine told 13News that ISP was not notified ahead of the time and had no prior knowledge of the demonstration on Saturday, Aug. 16.
According to Perrine, the small group gathered at the Indiana War Memorial and was seen on camera by a member of the Indiana State Capitol Police. That's when troopers responded to the area, communicated with additional law enforcement partners and followed the group to ensure overall safety.
