The effort to redraw the congressional map in Indiana is at a crossroads as state Republican leaders reach out to their caucuses and monitor the situation in Texas. Vice President JD Vance traveled to Indiana in early August to encourage Gov. Mike Braun, Speaker Todd Huston and Senate President Rod Bray to redraw the state's congressional districts to help get more Republicans into Congress. “It’ll be interesting to see what Texas does because they don’t have a supermajority, so … if that gets tripped up, it’s gonna probably impact what happens elsewhere because the rest of it doesn’t add up to much,” Braun told the Capital Chronicle on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
