Description

The city of Indianapolis announced a few weeks ago they would be closing a homeless encampment off of Virginia Street and Interstate 65 on Monday, Aug. 11. However, on the day of the move, there was no change. Throughout the day, 13News did not see anyone from the city start the moving process — only friends and family of the unhoused people helping them pack their things. On Tuesday, Aug. 12, Brian Heinemann, chief communications officer with the Office of Public Health and Safety, issued a statement to 13News.
