Description
When a school bus drops off kids at school, a bus driver’s job is not done yet.
There is training and technology to prevent kids from being forgotten if they did not get off. In Indianapolis, First Student, Inc. has 300 buses. After they are loaded up and drivers take students to school, they must check their buses to make sure that kids are not still on board.
Each driver is trained to do a child search and use the Child Check-Mate System, which they use on their school buses. It activates once the bus is turned off. Drivers search high, low, under and behind seats. They walk down and back twice to check for kids.
