Description
Denver Mayor Mike Johnston announced the city's proposed budget for 2026 on Monday, which would be the city's largest spending cuts in a decade, aside from 2021 during the pandemic.
The proposal cuts 5.8% from the city's general fund to deal with a $200 million budget shortfall due to a drop in sales revenue. The city plans to spend $1.66 billion in 2026, down from $1.76 billion in 2025.
