A new bar is moving into the historic Tivoli Student Union on the Auraria campus and is expected to open next month. Quad Side Tavern will take over the space formerly occupied by Tivoli Brewing, with a tentative opening date of Sept. 22. Organizers said the space is designed to be more than a bar. By day, it will serve as a relaxed campus hangout, and by night, it will transform into a lively destination for students, staff, faculty and visitors. “Quad Side Tavern is built for the campus community, by the campus community,” said Myles Fisher, vice president of food and beverage at Peak Beverage. “The feedback we received this spring has shaped every detail—from drink offerings to the look and feel of the space.” The space will host trivia nights, live music and happy hours, along with themed seating areas such as a scholar’s lounge, study zones and conversation nooks. The tavern is located along the 16th Street side of the Tivoli and it's expected to be a convenient stop before concerts and games at nearby Ball Arena.
