Description
The Lee Fire burning in Moffat County has grown to more than 116,000 acres in just over a week, making it Colorado's fifth-largest wildfire on record and highlighting a dramatic shift in the state's fire patterns over the past two decades.
Four of Colorado's five largest fires have burned in the last five years: Cameron Peak, East Troublesome and Pine Gulch all burned in 2020, while the Hayman Fire burned in 2002. The Lee Fire now joins this record-breaking group.
