Description
Indian engineers break through the final rock section of the Zojila tunnel, a strategic Himalayan road project linking Kashmir with Ladakh, the remote frontier region near India's border with China. Project engineer Manmohan Singh says the tunnel will strengthen connectivity with Ladakh and help India’s armed forces "stay prepared for any emergency situation".
