Description
EARTH'S SPACE ORBIT - DEC 11, 2011 (Ungraded): Over the Snow-Covered Alps.
Time lapse from unaltered photos taken by astronauts. HighRes NASA JPEGs muxed into PhotoJPEG video without re-encoding and post-processing. This clip retains 100% of original image quality including camera artifacts.
ISS flying in Earth's orbit from France, just west of Paris, to the far south corner of Croatia, near the Adriatic Sea. This short video looks southeast from France toward the Italian Peninsula. Small Western European cities can be seen throughout the video as the Alps Mountains begin to appear with snow-covered tops. The snow can be differentiated from the surrounding cloud because the snow on the mountains appear very jagged, and the clouds to the north are very smooth. Further downtrack from the Alps, the Italian Peninsula appears under cloud as the track finishes over the Adriatic Sea and southern Croatia. (av21423u)
