      In response to the domestic violence cases mounting in our state....State Representative Bakari Sellers...who's running for lt. governor.... has announced plans to file a bill to strengthen laws for these crimes. [TAKE VO] {***VO***}      According to Sellers the bill would allow judges to hand down stiffer penalties for first time offenders.      That includes longer periods of time behind bars, igher bonds, and facing gun penalties.      The bill would also extend the number of years before an offender can have his or her record expunged.
